Wynkoop and this weekend

This Friday Jeff and I went downtown to the Wynkoop and met with Missy and Scott who were in visiting from Chicago. Missy had a job interview here and they are hoping to get back to Denver within the year. We hope it happens.

Paul ended up coming up from Colorado Springs and we had a great time. Saturday we hung out with Doug and made crab cakes.

Sunday we just hung out and didn't leave the house except to take Charlie for a short walk. Nice weekend.

Ernest movies

It's been a long time since I've watched an Ernest movie. Ernest movies are pretty innocuous. Maybe I'll go watch some American Beauty or listen to Vince Gill or talk about a new bike seat so that my life has meaning and I don't have to get excited about something as innocuous as a file cabinet. Because god forbid I take any joy out simple stupid things like file cabinets, and Ernest movies.

New file cabinet

Our new and improved file cabinet. I heart it.

Never Forget You

I like this doo wop style. It reminds me of Amy Winehouse just a little without the crack pipe and missing teeth.

Kernel fear

I have this irrational fear when I make popcorn that after the microwave is done popping, and I remove the bag and open it immediately, that a whole kernel of corn is going to fly out of the bag and hit me in the eye, possibly blinding me or at least making me scream bloody murder. I always hold the bag away from my face when opening a bag of popcorn, and I also blink a lot, like a dog does when you cuff him in the face for trying to snatch food away from you.

So if Jeff ever walks in and sees me crumpled on the floor clutching one eye with a bag of popcorn strewn around me, he'll know what happened.

Dethklok

So Jeff and I went the concert of a cartoon band this weekend. Jeff's friend Caleb came down and we went to the Fillmore to watch Mastadon and Dethklok.

Aside from almost dying when a massive pit broke out right where we were standing to watch Dethklok when they started playing the theme to their show, it was a really fun show with a lot of energy.

Caleb actually saved my life because he just tucked me into his bicep and carried me to safety. The look of terror in his eyes as he was carrying me is now a flashbulb memory to me. Poor Caleb felt responsible because he was the one that asked if I wanted to get closer so we could see the screen better. Jeff was smartly and safely not in the middle and more in the left third of the crowd and that's where I ended up for the duration of the concert. I damaged my eardrums from all the double drum pedal action and it was a lot of fun.

My neck hurts from all the headbanging :)

That's so metal
